Centaurea more commonly known as Knapweeds

Other common names include centaury, centory, starthistles, knapweeds, centaureas and the more ambiguous "bluets"; and "loggerheads" .

Centaurea grows almost anywhere as long as it has good drainage. Centaurea produces beautiful thistle-like flowers surrounded by a ring of slender ray petals in a wide range of colours on silver grey foliage from summer onwards they will bloom continually if the spent flowers are removed regularly.

These beautiful Centaurea perennials are related to the cornflower, great plants for attracting butterflies and bees to wildflower gardens.
