The great fact about Hydrangea paniculata is that they are not as fussy about soil pH as other hydrangeas

The panicles of most cultivars appear in late summer but last into autumn and make medium-size or large, spreading shrubs. This variety of Hydrangea will be happy when planted where they are shaded from the sun for part of the day.

They associate well with other September part-shade-lovers, such as asters and Japanese anemones

Panicle hydrangeas can be kept compact by pruning.
